Y Cool Drape: Flat & Key Profile
The Y COOL Drape is designed to fit your Y Cool keyboard perfectly—like a second skin. It seals off the keyboard, preventing the buildup of dirt, dust, and harmful microbes in its interior.
Cleaning and sterilisation are simple: wash with soap and water, disinfect with hospital-approved cleaners, sterilise in an autoclave, or expose to UV disinfection.
Our Y Cool Drape comes in two versions:
- Y Cool Drape Flat: The flat, smooth surface ensures effortless cleaning, with no cracks or crevices where germs can hide. Ideal for a quick, single-wipe disinfection;
- Y Cool Drape with Key Profile: Its subtle key profile makes it easy to find your way around the keys—perfect for touch typists. An ideal design for natural finger positioning and typing control.
Do you need an extra drape?
Every Y Cool keyboard comes with a drape included. Additional drapes are only necessary if you’d like spare units on hand or wish to replace your existing one.
Note: Y Cool Drapes are only compatible with Y Cool keyboards.

Cleaning and disinfecting instructions
UV disinfection
You can expose the drape to UV disinfection
Soap and water
Cleanable with soap and water.
Surface disinfectants
Cleanable with approved surface disinfectants, such as those based on alcohol, chlorine ≤ 10%, formaldehyde ≤37%, glutaraldehyde, phenol or quaternary ammonium ≤2%, or oxidizing ≤3%.
Rinse
You can rinse the product.
Spray
You can spray the product.
Wipe
You can wipe the product with a soft cloth that is non-abrasive like a micro-fiber cloth, a disinfecting wipe, a soft brush similar to a paint brush in bristle stiffness or a sponge, but not a scourer of any sort.
Immerse
You can immerse the product (except USB connector).
Expose to HPV
You can expose the product to Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour (HPV).
Sterilise
You can sterilise the product in an autoclave or thermo disinfector (up to 134 ºC, tested 200 cycles).
